Monolithic Refractories

Ceramic Fiber Rope

Highland Refractory manufactures ceramic fiber rope in three distinct constructions — twisted, round braided, and square braided — each engineered for a specific sealing scenario in industrial furnaces, kilns, and boilers. All ropes are asbestos-free, reinforced with fiberglass or stainless steel wire, and rated for continuous service up to 1260°C (2300°F). Custom diameters from 3 mm to 50 mm are available on a made-to-order basis with a standard lead time of 30–40 working days.

    Ceramic Fiber Rope Types

Ceramic fiber rope is manufactured in three construction types — twisted, round braided, and square braided — each delivering a distinct combination of density, flexibility, and gas-tight sealing performance. The construction method determines fiber orientation, density, compressive behavior, and ultimately whether the rope can hold a high-pressure furnace seal or only serve as passive thermal fill. This guide explains how each type is made, how it performs, and how to select the correct one for your groove geometry and operating conditions.

Ceramic Fiber Rope — High-Temperature Sealing Products

Highland Refractory manufactures ceramic fiber rope in three distinct constructions — twisted, round braided, and square braided — each engineered for a specific sealing scenario in industrial furnaces, kilns, and boilers. All ropes are asbestos-free, reinforced with fiberglass or stainless steel wire, and rated for continuous service up to 1260°C (2300°F). Custom diameters from 3 mm to 50 mm are available on a made-to-order basis.

Twisted Rope

Loose multi-strand twist — soft, flexible, and economical. Best for static gap filling, pipe lagging, and expansion joints where compression sealing is not required.

Round Braided Rope

Core-jacket braided construction — medium-high density with balanced flexibility. The standard choice for furnace door seals, radiant tube packing, and repetitive compression applications.

Square Braided Rope

Lattice braided with the highest density — heavy-duty sealing for pressurized furnaces, high-pressure flange gaskets, and glass furnace cooling zones.

Indicative Price Range by Rope Type

The following are indicative factory-direct B2B reference prices (FOB Qingdao, USD per kilogram). Actual pricing depends on diameter, reinforcement material, grade, and order volume. All prices are subject to batch quotation confirmation.

Rope Type Reference USD/kg Primary Price Driver
Twisted Rope (Fiberglass Reinforced) 1.50 – 4.00 Lowest manufacturing complexity; fiberglass reinforcement cost ≤ $0.50/kg. Price increases with diameter.
Round Braided Rope (SS Wire Reinforced) 3.00 – 10.00 Core-jacket braiding adds processing cost; SS 304/316 wire raw material at $3–6/kg market price. Diameter >20mm increases knit density requirements.
Square Braided Rope (Inconel Wire / High-Alumina) 5.00 – 18.00 Lattice braid = highest fiber consumption per meter. Inconel 600/625 wire at $20–40/kg raw material. High-alumina or zirconia grade adds $3–6/kg formulation cost.

Note: Prices above are FOB Qingdao, excluding sea freight and import duties. Volume-tier discounts apply for FCL (full container load) orders. Contact us with your target diameter, rope type, and reinforcement preference for a batch-specific quotation with current raw-material-indexed pricing.

Why Source Ceramic Fiber Rope from Highland Refractory

31 Years of Refractory Manufacturing

Founded in 1993, Highland Refractory operates a dedicated ceramic fiber production line in Zhengzhou, China — not a trading company re-labelling third-party product. Every batch of rope is manufactured under one roof with full traceability from raw material receiving to finished product inspection.

Direct Factory Pricing & Flexible MOQ

As a manufacturer with no intermediary markup, we provide factory-direct B2B pricing on all rope orders. Standard MOQ is 1 carton per specification (approximately 30–50 kg depending on diameter), with volume-tier discounts for FCL and annual contract quantities.

Custom Diameter & Profile Capability

Standard rope diameters range from 3 mm to 50 mm, but we also manufacture non-standard diameters, custom rectangular profiles, and project-specific lengths on request. For irregular groove dimensions, our engineering team can recommend the optimal diameter and compression allowance before production begins.

Dedicated Export Documentation

Every shipment includes a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA), Safety Data Sheet (SDS), and packing list with net/gross weight per carton. For EU-bound orders, we provide REACH compliance declarations and EN 1094 test reports. Our export documentation team handles all paperwork so your customs clearance proceeds without delay.

B2B Packaging, Logistics & Lead Time

Coiling & Inner Packing Each rope specification is coiled into standard ring sizes (300–500 mm ID) and individually wrapped in moisture-proof LDPE film. Coils are secured with nylon strapping to prevent unravelling during transit. A product label with batch number, diameter, weight, and grade is affixed to each coil.
Carton Packing Wrapped coils are packed in 5-ply corrugated export cartons. Each carton holds 20–30 kg net weight depending on rope diameter and coil size. Cartons are labelled with product specification, batch number, net weight, and destination marking.
Palletization Cartons are stacked on fumigated ISPM-15 heat-treated wooden pallets, cross-strapped with high-tension steel banding, and finished with full-wrap stretch film. Standard pallet load: 600–800 kg. Corner protectors are applied at all strapping contact points.
Shipping & Lead Time Standard lead time: 30–40 working days after deposit clearance for standard diameters (3–25 mm). Custom diameters, square profiles, or large-volume orders (5+ pallets) may extend to 45 working days. Shipping: FOB Qingdao / Shanghai by sea freight. Air freight available for urgent small-volume orders (additional cost). We work with all major shipping lines — you may nominate your forwarder or use our recommended logistics partner.
Minimum Order Quantity Standard MOQ is 1 carton per specification (approximately 30–50 kg). Mixed specifications within one pallet are accepted. For first-time trial orders, we accommodate smaller quantities — contact our sales team with your target diameter and application for a trial quotation.
