Silicon-molybdenum bricks are refractory materials made of high-alumina bauxite clinker, silicon carbide and appropriate binders as the main raw materials, formed by high-pressure molding and high-temperature sintering.
Ultrafine oxide powder and specific additives are added to form a dense glaze film on the surface at high temperature, which prevents the refractory lining from reacting with the material and slows down the penetration erosion rate, making the product have high resistance to chemical erosion and excellent wear resistance.
It is the preferred material for the transition zone and preheating zone of large cement kilns. The thermal conductivity of silicon-molybdenum bricks is lower than that of alkaline products, so the product has good high-temperature insulation effect.

Highland Refractory classifies Silica Bricks by SiO₂ content and application scenarios to meet diverse industrial needs—high-purity Silica Bricks (SiO₂ ≥ 96%) for coke oven carbonization chambers requiring strict thermal stability, medium-purity variants (SiO₂ 93–96%) for glass kiln regenerators, and standard-grade bricks (SiO₂ 90–93%) for general acidic high-temperature equipment; unlike Magnesia Carbon Brick which excels in alkaline environments, each type of Silica Brick is optimized for acidic slag resistance, making them a go-to choice for scenarios where Magnesia Carbon Brick is less suitable.
Highland’s Silica Bricks stand out in acidic high-temperature environments with key strengths: they boast ultra-high refractoriness (≥ 1600℃) to maintain structure in continuous high-heat operations, excellent acidic slag resistance to avoid erosion from acidic melts (a key advantage over alkaline-focused Magnesia Carbon Brick), low permanent linear change (≤ 0.5% after 1550℃ × 2h heating) for long-term dimensional stability, and good thermal conductivity to ensure uniform temperature distribution in equipment like coke ovens—while Magnesia Carbon Brick excels in alkaline settings, Silica Bricks are unmatched for acidic high-temperature needs.
Silica Bricks are indispensable for acidic high-temperature equipment across core sectors: in the iron and steel industry, they line coke oven carbonization chambers and regenerators to withstand coke production heat; in the glass industry, they build glass kiln regenerators and checkers to resist acidic glass melt; in the chemical industry, they line sulfuric acid roasting furnaces to handle acidic corrosion—unlike Magnesia Carbon Brick which serves steel converters and alkaline smelters, Silica Bricks dominate acidic high-temperature scenarios where Magnesia Carbon Brick’s alkaline resistance is unnecessary.
Silica Bricks (Highland) excel in ultra-high acidic environments—they resist 1600℃+ heat, stand up to acidic slag, and suit coke ovens/glass kilns, making them ideal for harsh acidic high-temperature needs (unlike Magnesia Carbon Brick which targets alkaline settings); Fire Clay Bricks, by contrast, offer cost-effectiveness and easy workability, handle medium temperatures (1300–1400℃), and fit low-heat alkaline-neutral scenarios like boiler linings—while Magnesia Carbon Brick is for alkaline high heat, Silica Bricks fill the gap for acidic ultra-high heat, and Fire Clay Bricks for budget-friendly medium-heat use.
Highland Refractory is a trusted leader in Silica Brick production, with 30+ years of expertise in formulating bricks for acidic high-temperature needs—we use high-purity quartz raw materials, apply strict QC (testing refractoriness, slag resistance, and dimensional accuracy for every batch), hold ISO 9001/CE certifications, and maintain 60,000 tons of annual capacity to meet large orders; while we also excel at making Magnesia Carbon Brick for alkaline scenarios, our Silica Bricks are tailored to perfection for acidic high-temperature equipment, earning trust from 1,500+ global clients.
Choose Highland for your Silica Brick needs to get end-to-end value: we offer customization (tailoring SiO₂ content and shape for non-standard equipment like special coke ovens), fast delivery (3–7 days for standard bricks, 10–15 days for custom), bulk discounts (5–10% off orders ≥ 500 tons), and 24/7 technical support (on-site installation guidance for coke ovens); we also provide free samples and quality inspection reports, and while we supply top-tier Magnesia Carbon Brick for alkaline use, our Silica Bricks are guaranteed to meet your acidic high-temperature requirements with reliability.
