Sand mold sprue of cast steel and cast iron, sprue of molten mold casting, appearance is gray-black powder, non-toxic and odorless, without harmful ingredients.
Highland’s TZ-M1 Riser Exothermic Covering Agent releases stable 1400-1500℃ heat (cutting casting defects by 50-70%), combines exothermic/insulation functions (no extra materials), and has low smoke—meeting global eco standards, boosting casting yield cost-effectively.
When the molten steel (iron) level rises to more than half the height of the sprue, a sufficient amount should be added in time, and for castings with multiple sprues, they should be added in order from far to near. After covering, no point pouring should be done to prevent damage to the covering surface and loss of function. The dosage is 1%-3% of the sprue weight. The product must be stored in a fireproof and moisture-proof environment.
1. This product has high calorific value and outstanding insulation performance. After use, it can keep the steel in the sprue in a liquid state for a longer period, so as to continuously replenish the volume shrinkage of the casting during the solidification process, making the final shrinkage hole located above the sprue, ensuring that the casting has a dense structure without shrinkage holes and looseness, significantly improving the yield rate of castings.
2. After using this product, the sprue shrinks and forms a shell with a "U" or "dish" shape at the upper end. Its excellent feeding performance can save 30%-50% of molten steel (iron) in the sprue weight during pouring, maximizing the process output rate.

Highland Refractory categorizes TZ-M1 Riser Exothermic Covering Agent by exothermic duration and eco-friendliness: Standard (30-45min exotherm, for medium-small castings), Long-Acting (60-90min, for large heavy castings), and Low-Smoke (eco-friendly, for strict emission foundries). Each TZ-M1 Riser Exothermic Covering Agent uses exothermic/insulation components to retain riser temperature.
Highland’s TZ-M1 Riser Exothermic Covering Agent releases stable 1400-1500℃ heat (cutting casting defects by 50-70%), combines exothermic/insulation functions (no extra materials), and has low smoke—meeting global eco standards, boosting casting yield cost-effectively.
TZ-M1 Riser Exothermic Covering Agent is used in foundries: automotive (engine blocks), engineering machinery (excavator arms), heavy equipment (turbine housings); a modified version fits non-ferrous casting (aluminum alloy parts).
TZ-M1 Riser Exothermic Covering Agent focuses on exothermic insulation for risers (reduces casting defects), while TZ Series Slag-Coagulating Agent specializes in slag coagulation (simplifies cleaning, protects metallurgical linings).
Highland Refractory, with 30+ years of expertise, ISO 9001/CE, and 60,000-ton capacity, produces high-quality TZ-M1 Riser Exothermic Covering Agent. It serves 1500+ global clients, conducts strict tests, and offers custom formulations.
Choosing Highland means custom TZ-M1 (per casting needs), fast delivery (3-7 days in stock), bulk discounts (5-10% off ≥5 tons), free samples, and 24/7 technical support.
